Wilkerson has now won a state title as a player and a coach with the Red Devils.
Former Indiana men’s basketball player Sherron Wilkerson lead Jeffersonville High School boy’s basketball to a 67-66 overtime win in the Class 4A state championship game on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Wilkerson is in his third season as the Red Devils head coach. Jeffersonville took on a juggernaut of an opponent too, Fishers was 30-1 heading into this game with a rising star on the sideline in head coach Garrett Winegar and a 4-star point guard leading the way in Jason Gardner Jr.
New Indiana head coach Darian DeVries was in attendance for the matchup as well, taking in his first state finals.
Wilkerson has now won a state title with Jeffersonville as a player and a coach, having starred for the Red Devils in 1993 as a McDonald’s All-American. The 2025 and 1993 titles are the lone state championships in program history for the Red Devils.
