Jason Drake and Nick Dorn are facing some minor injury concerns ahead of Indiana’s trip to Puerto Rico.
Darian DeVries addressed the media on Wednesday ahead of Indiana’s trip to Puerto Rico. With Jason Drake and Nick Dorn sidelined during practice, DeVries was asked about their status heading into the trip and beyond.
“The timeline on both of them is a little up in the air,” DeVries said. “We’ll see where that leads. We’re obviously hopeful that both of them will be back in a relatively good timeline. But I don’t anticipate, with Nick especially, that would be something more in the fall. So we’ll see how that shakes out as we move forward.”
Neither injury was disclosed, but the phrasing DeVries used doesn’t suggest anything long-term for the upcoming regular season. Indiana is set to leave for Puerto Rico, where the Hoosiers will play three exhibition matchups, this coming Monday.
Both Drake and Dorn were transfer additions this past offseason during DeVries’ rebuild effort. Drake averaged 11.1 points, 3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game at Drexel while Dorn averaged 15.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game at Elon.
