Big Ten Fans React To Offensive Coordinator Getting Fired

Tom Allen and the Indiana Hoosiers have reportedly decided to make a change at OC.

According to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, “Walt Bell fired as Indiana’s offensive coordinator & replaced by Rod Carey, who was quality control coach w/Hoosiers since start of last season.”

Fans reacted to the news on Sunday.

“Indiana has fired offensive coordinator Walt Bell,” shared Chris Vannini. “Quality control coach Rod Carey (former NIU head coach) will take over as OC. Indiana is 2-3 after yesterday’s 44-17 loss to Maryland and the Hoosiers are 113th in scoring. Bell was in his second season.”

“IU scored 34 points in losses to 3 Power 5 teams,” said Rick Bozich. “From Tom Allen in release announcing Rod Carey, will replace Walt Bell: ‘I felt we need a new direction on the offensive side of the ball. Rod brings a wealth of experience and success along with a familiarity with our personnel.'”
