Tyrese Haliburton confirmed he is dealing with a calf strain and will be a game time decision for Game 6 of the Finals for the Indiana Pacers against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Haliburton played 34 minutes in Game 5 but didn’t score a field goal as he was clearly limited by the injury.
“I have to understand the risks, ask the right questions,” said Haliburton. “But I’m a competitor. I want to play. I’m going to do everything in my power to play.”
Haliburton underwent an MRI on Tuesday ahead of Friday’s Game 6 back in Indiana. The Pacers trail the Thunder 3-2 in the series.
Haliburton is averaging 18.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.4 minutes over 20 playoff games. In the Finals, Haliburton is averaging 15.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists with a PER of 14.1 compared to 25.1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
