Tyrese Haliburton will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of a strained right calf. Haliburton didn’t score a single field goal in the Indiana Pacers’ Game 5 loss at the Oklahoma City Thunder as he was visibly limited by the injury. Haliburton said postgame that he expected to play in Game 6 back at home in Indiana.
Haliburton had ankle soreness in his right leg last week. T.J. McConnell has played well in his minutes at point guard when Haliburton was out of the game.
“It was described to me today that if this were the regular season or even the first round, there’s doubt he even would play,” said Shams Charania.
The Pacers enter Game 6 trailing Oklahoma City 3-2.
Haliburton is averaging 18.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.4 minutes over 20 playoff games. In the Finals, Haliburton is averaging 15.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists with a PER of 14.1 compared to 25.1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
