Tyrese Haliburton deemed NBA's most overrated in players' poll

April 22, 2025 by Hoops Hype

Who is the league’s most overrated player? This year, Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers’ star point guard, received 14.4 percent of the vote after he garnered 3.7 percent last year. Haliburton led the Pacers last season to the East finals, averaged 8.2 assists per game during those playoffs while making 49 percent of his shot attempts and 38 percent of his 3-point tries. Perhaps our respondents think Haliburton got too much credit for that playoff run after Indiana’s first-round opponent last year was missing Giannis Antetokounmpo because of an injury and after Indiana’s second-round opponent, New York, dealt with a bunch of injuries.

On the way to the bunch at the timeout with 1:32 left, the Bucks and Pacers appeared to have some words.

Lillard has some words for Haliburton during the timeout as the Bucks are challenging the call. Not sure what he’s upset about.

That was a bad, desperate 3-try by Giannis — who has enhanced his mid-range game and limited his 3-point attempts. Stay in attack mode.
Pacers have grown their lead to 15 with 4mins left in the 2Q — and Haliburton only has 4pts. Good bench minutes from Mathurin, Walker. – 2:03 PM

More on this storyline

Haliburton must’ve responded with something that Lillard didn’t like, and he said “We suck? We’re gonna see about that… and I’ll beat your a–.” Pascal Siakam got into the back and forth, and was seen saying “Why is he talking… h– a– n—-” and Haliburton responding to him saying “It’s time to get them the f— out of here.” -via Clutch Points / April 20, 2025
The Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers faced off in an intense Game 1 that showed that both teams are not fond of each other. The Pacers had control of the entire game, and late in the fourth quarter, the Bucks tried to make a comeback, but it didn’t work out. Tyrese Haliburton went to the free-throw line at one point, and Damian Lillard is seen chirping at him. After he knocks down the free throws, Lillard and Haliburton are seen going back and forth, with the Bucks guard allegedly mouthing “What are you gonna do, n—-?” -via Clutch Points / April 20, 2025
