The Pacers legend is recognized as one of the all-time greats that he is.
There is no doubt Reggie Miller remains the most impactful Pacers player in the team’s NBA history. He also impacted the NBA, leading the charge at the forefront of the three-point revolution.
Those two facts combined with the many huge moments Uncle Reg delivered down the stretch in important games is what helped Miller get selected to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team as on of the Top 75 players (actually, 76 players thanks to a tied vote).
Reggie retired as the all-time leading three-point shooter with 2560 treys, a title he held until Ray Allen eclipsed the number. Steph Curry has also passed Reggie and is well on his way to blowing past Allen. So sure, there are many players who had a similar case to Miller who were left off the anniversary team, but I also think Miller’s impact on the game is often overlooked by ring counters.
Curry’s inspirations growing up was Miller, his favorite player, so it was fitting that TNT played a recent interview with Miller and Curry, talking shooting and getting into a zone only they can understand. After the interview, the TNT crew surprised Reggie with the Top 75 news which was perfect.
