Ranking The Best Fit For Cameron Boozer Among Bottom 5 Teams

December 4, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

Unquestionably, the 2026 NBA Draft is an absolutely loaded class filled with talent. At the very top of this class, this year’s draft is defined by three prospects who have the potential to be franchise cornerstones at the NBA level. One of those prospects is Duke forward Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. As a prospect, Boozer is undoubtedly a physical and intelligent two-way forward who has excelled in most areas of the game. Considering his sheer versatility and basketball IQ, drafting Boozer will certainly be a massive win for any team drafting in the top five. As of December 2nd, let’s rank the best fit for Cameron Boozer among the current bottom five teams.

Ranking The Best Fit For Cameron Boozer Among Bottom 5 Teams

#1. Oklahoma City Thunder (via Los Angeles Clippers)

It is difficult to imagine that the reigning NBA champions will be drafting in the top five if the season ended right now. Nevertheless, the Thunder, with the Clippers’ pick from the Paul George trade, has that chance.  Not only do they have that chance, but Cameron Boozer would fit the best there. Oklahoma City certainly has the perfect combination of personnel and developmental staff to help Maximize Boozer. In terms of personnel, Boozer will get the benefit of playing next to high-level creators like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. While he is certainly capable of creating his own shot, playing next to guys like them will make the game easier for Boozer. Furthermore, he will also benefit from the excellent floor spacing that Oklahoma City can put out.

For the Thunder, the addition of Boozer is an obvious win for the organization. They would get an incredible prospect who can be the long-term partner next to Chet Holmgren in the frontcourt. The two of them can build an amazing defense while also being great floor-spacers and shot creators. To be honest, adding Boozer upgrades the Thunder in all aspects of the game, considering how versatile and talented Boozer is in all facets of the game. The fit between Boozer and Thunder is a perfect marriage between the two parties and would only cement Oklahoma City’s dominance in this era of the NBA.

#2. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are another team that Boozer would fit well with. His overall skill set and talent would give Washington the true number one option that they have been desperately looking for. Boozer would be their face of the franchise and someone to truly build around. He would be an amazing fit next to Alex Sarr. Boozer has the sturdy build and versatile skill set to minimize Sarr’s weaknesses while maximizing his strengths. Together, they can form an excellent defensive frontcourt, making the paint a difficult place to score for opposing teams. Plus, he has the scoring talent and passing ability to collapse defenses and find shooters like Tre Johnson and Kyshawn George. Overall, Boozer would round out the talent in Washington nicely; the Wizards are a great fit for him.

#3. Indiana Pacers

Getting a talented prospect like Boozer would be a godsend for this Pacers team. Boozer has everything he needs to be a brilliant co-star next to Tyrese Haliburton once he gets healthy. Playmakers like Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard have the vision to find Boozer great looks and who can share the offensive burden. Plus, the Pacers have a roster that possesses capable shooters who can space the floor for Boozer’s rim attack.

Speaking of rim attack, Boozer’s talents as a paint scorer, facilitator, and defender make him a long-term fit at the four. That is crucial considering Pascal Siakam‘s age relative to the rest of the roster. However, there are questions with the frontcourt pairing between Siakam and Boozer next season. Specifically, Siakam isn’t the most consistent floor spacer, and they both operate in similar areas of the floor. Nevertheless, Boozer would be an amazing fit in Indiana, with their emphasis on ball movement.

#4.  Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been searching for the key piece to center their rebuild around. Boozer can certainly be that player. Not only does Boozer score and defend at a high level, but he also fits into the ball movement philosophy that Brooklyn adopted for the 2025 NBA Draft. However, questions do pop up in terms of the fit with the roster. Specifically, outside of Michael Porter Jr., the overall spacing of the Nets isn’t good. To be sure, guys like Drake Powell and Egor Demin have flashed potential as shooters, but they are still developing. Boozer won’t be walking into a situation perfect for him. Regardless, the Nets gaining a talent like Boozer would be a lifesaver for the franchise.

#5. Atlanta Hawks (via New Orleans Pelicans)

Like all the other teams on this ranking, Boozer would be a tremendous fit. His overall talent level on both ends would fit on any of the teams. However, the Atlanta Hawks land at the bottom due to questions around Boozer’s addition to the overabundance of frontcourt talent in Atlanta. They already have talented forwards like Jalen Johnson, Mouhamed Gueye, and Asa Newell on the roster. It would be difficult to find minutes for all these players, as their natural position is power forward. Johnson is capable of playing small forward, however. Boozer has the talent to find ways to fit with Atlanta’s roster. Nevertheless, the difficulties in terms of roster construction compared to the other teams mean that the Hawks land at the bottom.
