AMES, Iowa — While he did not get an NBA Championship ring this year, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton will soon secure a wedding ring.
The All-NBA point guard announced Monday afternoon on social media that (despite his recent Achilles tear) he got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend Jade Jones.
Haliburton proposed to Jones at his alma mater, Iowa State University in Ames. The university is where he and Jones first met, with him being a star basketball player and her being a co-ed cheerleader.
“The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins,” Haliburton captioned a series of photos on Instagram.
The engagement pictures, posted by the 25-year-old Haliburton on Instagram, can be seen below:
Haliburton has been in a relationship with Jones since 2019, according to People Magazine.
Jones has become a staple of Pacers games since Haliburton was traded to Indiana, consistently sitting courtside at games and being active with fans on social media. She went viral during the NBA Finals for cheering on the Pacers and yelling at OKC Thunder fans during away games.
In the engagement photos, Haliburton can be seen wearing a medical boot and kneeling next to a knee scooter. This is a result of the surgery he underwent after the NBA Finals to repair a torn right Achilles tendon.
In a press conference held earlier this month, Pacers’ President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard confirmed Haliburton will not participate in the 2025-26 season. This time off will likely give him extra time to plan the wedding.
Congratulations, Tyrese and Jade!
