INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers are off to a winless 0-4 start, and now they are facing another loss: fan favorite forward Obi Toppin is set to undergo surgery on his right foot.
The Pacers announced on Friday that Toppin has been diagnosed with a partial stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
According to Sports Illustrated, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle told reporters that Toppin will likely be on the sidelines until February.
Toppin is set to travel to New York to have his right foot surgically repaired.
An injury-riddled Pacers team is set to take on the Atlanta Hawks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. on Friday as the Pacers open up East Group A play for the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup.
In the first four games of the season, the Pacers have had four different starting lineups.
