INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers’ magical postseason run came to a heartbreaking end when star point guard Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles tendon.
Haliburton, the author of four memorable postseason moments, played with a calf strain in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. It ended in disaster with an injury that will take at least a year of recovery. The Pacers fought hard but lost Game 7 103-91 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Haliburton is the engine that drives the Pacers, a talented passer and scorer who makes everyone on the court better. His injury sent shockwaves through a Pacers fandom that watched their team reach the Finals for the first time in 25 years.
In the blink of an eye–in the first quarter of Game 7–their star player went down.
The team has started the “Hearts for Hali” campaign asking fans to let him know they’re with him every step of the way as he recovers from the injury. Haliburton had surgery on June 23, the day after the Game 7 loss.
