OKLAHOMA CITY — Point guard Tyrese Haliburton missed the majority of Game 7 of the NBA Finals with a leg injury on Sunday.
Haliburton went down with the injury during the first quarter of the game. He was subsequently seen walking off the floor with assistance from the Pacers’ staff after suffering the injury.
In a post on X, the Pacers confirmed that Haliburton would not return to the game with an injury.
During ABC’s broadcast of the game, sideline reporter Lisa Salters indicated that Haliburton suffered an Achilles injury. Salters said she obtained the information from Haliburton’s father, John Haliburton.
Haliburton had scored nine points in seven minutes of action before he left the game. Backup point guard T.J. McConnell was tasked with filling in for Haliburton after he exited the game.
McConnell was effective in Haliburton’s absence, racking up 16 points and six rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
Haliburton suffered a calf injury during Game 5 of the NBA Finals. His status was in doubt ahead of Game 6 of the series, but he was able to play through the injury at that time.
