Fans react to Pacers' loss in Game 7 of NBA Finals

June 23, 2025 by WTTV - CBS 4

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers’ NBA title bid fell short on Sunday.

The Pacers lost Game 7 of the NBA Finals to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 103-91. With the win, the Thunder franchise secured its first NBA championship since it moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City in 2008.

Prior to this season, Indiana had not appeared in the NBA Finals since 2000. The Pacers have never won the NBA Finals, though Indiana did win ABA Championships in 1972 and 1973.

FOX59/CBS4 had crews in Oklahoma City and downtown Indianapolis Sunday night. Check out the reaction they gathered from fans and Pacers players and coaches below:

T.J. McConnell, Rick Carlisle weigh in on NBA Finals loss

Guard T.J. McConnell and coach Rick Carlisle weighed in on the Pacers’ loss in the NBA Finals during the postgame press conferences they held after Game 7.

McConnell racked up 16 points and six rebounds in 28 minutes of action. The 33-year-old point guard spent most of Sunday’s game filling in for Tyrese Haliburton, who exited the game with an injury in the first quarter and did not return.

Carlisle came up just short of earning his second NBA title as a head coach. Carlisle was coach of the Dallas Mavericks when they won a championship during the 2010-11 season.
