Cody Martin and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a contract via their hardship exception. The Pacers have had a surge of injuries to begin the season in addition to Tyrese Haliburton’s season long Achilles recovery.
In 53 games last season with the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns, Martin averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.1 minutes. Martin was waived by the Suns at the start of the offseason.
The Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat were among the teams interested in Martin in free agency though he remained unsigned and did not participate in training camp.
Martin is represented by Eric Fleisher and turned 30 in September.
